Jan Brewer meets the candidates
Mesa, Arizona (CNN) – Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer has met or is trying to meet all four of the Republican contenders while they are in the state for Wednesday’s CNN/Arizona Republican Party debate. Her endorsement would be welcome by all of the campaigns. Brewer met with Rick Santorum Tuesday and Newt Gingrich Wednesday, her spokesman Matthew Benson told CNN. She was scheduled to speak there and sign books. They met before her speech. She plans to meet Mitt Romney later Wednesday and is trying to arrange a get together with Ron Paul as well, Benson said. The endorsement will not come Tuesday night. Benson refused to characterize the sessions. Brewer has said she will endorse one of the candidates before next week’s primary in the state, but her spokesman said the governor has not indicated when that will come.
