Joel Pryzbilla Will Sign With Trail Blazers, According To Report

Free agent center Joel Pryzbilla has decided to sign with the Portland Trail Blazers , according to Yahoo! Sports . Przybilla reportedly signed a free agent deal for the veteran’s minimum for the remainder of the 2012 season. Only a few weeks ago, he was expected to choose between the Chicago Bulls or the Miami Heat . However, Portland made a late surge to reclaim their former player and seem to have won out. Przybilla was with the Blazers from 2004 until 2011, when he was traded mid-season to the Charlotte Bobcats . He hasn’t played this season as he spends time back in Milwaukee with his family. Przybilla averaged 4.0 points and 6.3 rebounds per game over his eleven-year career which has spanned Milwuakee, Altanta, Portland and Charlotte. He was the 9th overall selection in the 2000 NBA Draft, chosen by the Houston Rockets , but traded the same day to the Milwaukee Bucks . Wilson Chandler Visiting With Raptors, According To Report

Wilson Chandler is meeting with the Toronto Raptors to discuss the possibility of joining the team according to his agent, says SI.com’s Sam Amick . Chandler is said to still be in talks with the Denver Nuggets about a deal but is exploring his options. Many expect him to sign with Denver. The former Nugget recently ended his Chinese basketball career and is ready to return to America. Chandler averaged 12.5 points and five rebounds for the Nuggets last season before being one of the first players to sign abroad during the extended NBA lockout. He averaged 26.6 points and 11.6 rebounds with Zhejiang Guangsha, but is now eligible to return to the Association. United States Midfielder Ricardo Clark Goes On Loan To Stabaek

It appears as if Ricardo Clark’s trial with Stabaek went well because the United States midfielder has joined them for the season on loan from Eintracht Frankfurt in a deal that includes an option for the Norwegian club to buy Clark at the end of the loan. Stabaek’s season starts on March 25 and his loan is through July 31, meaning Clark will get an entire season in Norway to try and impress. The loan will give Clark an opportunity to get some playing time, which he desperately needs. Clark has played just once for Eintracht this season, way back in August. He hasn’t played since and has only made the bench three times since, which shows exactly where he stands without he club and it isn’t pretty. With a couple of days of training already under his belt as part of the trial and then another month before the season starts, Clark should not have a problem getting fit before Stabaek’s season starts. The club is looking to turn things around after they fell off from three straight seasons in the top three of the league and finished 12th in 2010 and 10th in 2011. Once Clark gets settled with Stabaek he can work on staying in the picture for Jurgen Klinsmann’s U.S. team. He scored the winning goal against Venezuela in January and was selected by Klinsmann when the full team was available too so he is clearly in the German’s plans to some degree, but the competition in the center of the midfield is fierce and Clark needs to be playing to give himself a chance.

The first round of the 2012 Accenture Match Play tournament has produced plenty of upsets through the first half of Wednesday. Higher-ranked seeds have lost 10 out of 16 matches so far, setting up a Day 2 bereft of a lot of top names. Of the players eliminated so far, two were ranked in the Top 10 of the Official World Golf Ranking . Australian Adam Scott, a No. 2 seed at the tournament, fell to Robert Rock of England (who has yet to play in a PGA Event this year) by three holes with two left to play. Not to be outdone, world No. 6 and 2-seed Webb Simpson dropped his match 3 and 2 to Italian Matteo Manassero. Graeme McDowell and last week’s Northern Trust Open winner Bill Haas also lost as 3-seeds at the tournament. Moving on were Steve Stricker (2 and 1), Jason Day (19 holes), and Charl Schwartzel (4 and 2). In perhaps the best match of the day, Dustin Johnson needed 20 holes to finally take out Jim Furyk. Tiger Woods was seeded in the No. 5 spot for the tournament, and he is one hole up on Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano with two holes left to play. Luke Donald and Rory McIlroy are struggling as 1-seeds at the moment; both are down one stroke against their challengers through eight and seven holes, respectively. Similar to the way they defeated Manchester United at St-Jakob’s Park in the group stages, FC Basel defended well, kept their shape and hit on the counter to defeat Bayern Munich in the Round of 16 on Wednesday. The Swiss champions are taking a 1-0 lead to the Allianz Arena, thanks to a late winner by substitute Valentin Stocker. The first half was a wild one, and both teams should have scored multiple goals. Incredibly, they went into the break tied 0-0, thanks to some great goalkeeping and some bad luck for the attacking players on both sides. Aleksandar Dragovic had a16th minute header cleared off the line by Holger Badstuber, while Marco Streller struck the crossbar in the 29th minute. Franck Ribery had multiple chances for Bayern, but Yann Sommer came up big in the first half with multiple saves on the Frenchman. Perhaps both managers adjusted their tactics in the locker room, because the second half was considerably more open. Things probably changed for the worse for Bayern in the 71st minute, when Thomas Müller came on for Ribery. He looked like he was limping as he came off, and an injury would be the only explanation for Ribery’s substitution. He was the best player on the pitch by some distance. Basel’s winner came on a counter attack in the 86th minute, with two substitutes combining. Jacques Zoua, who entered for a tired Xherdan Shaqiri just three minutes earlier, set up the goal with a great run and through ball into the box. Rafinha completely lost track of Stocker, who took a touch before putting a left-footed finish between the legs of Manuel Neuer . Bayern will be favored to win at home, but no matter the score, they will have to do it by multiple goals to avoid extra time. Because Bayern did not score an own goal, Basel will go through with any one-goal loss in which they score.
